Recently Google has announced that some steps that will be taken to improve the safety and security of users in their ecosystem. Hence, new policies have been introduced to restrict apps on Google Play Store with access to the call and SMS logs on users’ phones. Furthermore, Google has also required us to modify the workflow of how we track the duration of phone calls within the app which has impacted the Android OS 8 and 9 users only.
Due to these impacts, our users who downloaded the SalesCandy app through Google Play store were unable to use our text message feature and for Android OS 8 and 9 users, the incoming/outgoing calls were not able to be captured.
We would like to streamline our procedure by hosting the SalesCandy App in our private server in which all Android users will now need to download our latest version, 2.1.8X. Our SalesCandy App will no longer be available in the Google Play store. This will enable all our users to use our text message feature and the outgoing/incoming call logs will be captured accordingly.
Please be advised that the user will need to allow "Install Unknown Apps" from their phone settings in order to download our self-hosted SalesCandy APK. The user may proceed to disable this setting after they have downloaded the app.
Do note that we will still need user's permission to provide the approval to allow the SalesCandy App installation in their phone through unknown sources and the user will need to grant the certain mandatory permissions required to use our app.
Kindly refer to the below guide on how to allow the "Install Unknown Apps" setting and install our SalesCandy App from the self-hosted server.
